Mission Statement
HONESTY
Honesty is showing strong moral principles and great character.
EFFORT
Effort = Results. Our coaching staff has a love and passion for this game, which means we always give our athletes our best effort and ask for the same in return.
ATTITUDE
Bringing a positive mental attitude can help give a competitive edge.
TRUST
Trust is extremely important for two reasons. First, we want our young athletes to trust their ability. Being able to rely on your learned skills, without over thinking, is extremely important to player development. Second, great teammates have the trust in each other to fulfill their role.
We believe our athletes following these core values, paired with the encouragement from their families and our coaches, will ultimately lead to an unforgettable overall experience.
Bring the HEAT!
OUR COACHES
Adam Ahmad
Director of Coaching & Curriculum
As a Special Education teacher, Coach Ahmad brings an ability to connect and teach the game of lacrosse to each individual athlete. He believes in a positive approach to motivate athletes and instill confidence in themselves to reach their full potential.
Coach Ahmad’s Philosophy comes from John Sullivan’s book Every Moment Matters:
“There is nothing wrong with winning. But when the outcomes completely overshadow the process, the culture, and the satisfaction of creating an environment that serves your athletes far beyond the sports field, you lose something. Actually, you lose a lot, and so do your athletes.”

His main goal with Heatwave Lacrosse is to make sure every kid has fun, works towards building better habits, and comes away from the experience learning as much as possible.
One quote that Coach always kept in his mind was:
“We don’t rise to the level of our expectations, we fall to the level of our training” - Archilochus
Coach Sharples puts a major emphasis on training on and off the field, with your team and by yourself. He believes the difference between a good player and a great player is the amount of time spent working on themself.
